Sarah Huckabee Sanders responds to reporters at the White House press briefing today telling Cecilia Vega from ABC that “there’s no way this [tweet] is sexist.”
Press Sec. Sanders tells @CeciliaVega "there's no way" Pres. Trump's tweet about Sen. Gillibrand was sexist: "If you look back at past comments that this president has made, he's used that same terminology many times in reference to men." https://t.co/2qoJ743JlK pic.twitter.com/PeiVI7Y7tJ

To April Ryan reporting for CNN, Sanders commented “only if your mind if in the gutter” would you read the Trump tweet as sexist.

Unhinged: Donald Trump Goes After NY Senator (Dec 12, 2017 12:45pm)
By calling for Donald Trump to resign yesterday, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) knew she would become a target. And this morning the President unleashed a hateful and demeaning attack on Twitter saying “Gillibrand … (was) someone who would come to my office “begging” for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them.)”
Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office “begging” for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!

Gillibrand responded on Twitter with this: “You cannot silence me or the millions of women who have gotten off the sidelines to speak out about the unfitness and shame you have brought to the Oval Office.”

CNN: Gillibrand Calls On Trump To Resign (Dec 11, 2017 6:45pm)
New York Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has heard enough. She became the fourth Democrat in the Senate to call on Donald Trump to resign. She made the remarks to Christiane Amanpour on CNN.
Exclusive: If President Trump does not "immediately resign," @SenGillibrand tells me, Congress "should have appropriate investigations of his behavior and hold him accountable." https://t.co/n1TsoTwA7i pic.twitter.com/gXssRSBUCw
— Christiane Amanpour (@amanpour) December 11, 2017
“President Trump has committed assault, according to these women, and those are very credible allegations of misconduct and criminal activity, and he should be fully investigated and he should resign,” Gillibrand said. “These allegations are credible; they are numerous.” Gillibrand joins Cory Booker of New Jersey, Ron Wyden of Oregon and Jeff Merkley also of Oregon in calling for Trump to step down.
