Michael Bloomberg is getting back into politics (sort of). The United Nations secretary general appointed the former New York City mayor to be a special envoy for climate action.
In a press release, a United Nations representative wrote, “The Secretary-General and Mr. Bloomberg share the perspective that the emissions gap needs to be closed soon to limit global temperature increase to below 2 degrees Celsius.”

Bloomberg’s official website has a page dedicated to climate change where the billionaire says:

Pollution from coal power plants is the biggest contributor to our carbon footprint and cause hundreds of thousands of deaths every year.
