Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh will now make a television appearance tonight on Fox “News” where he and his wife will be “questioned.” Is Kavanaugh’s nomination in trouble? It’s safe to say a Supreme Court nominee wouldn’t be doing this if all was well.

Let’s just think about this for a second. As far as we can remember, never has a Supreme Court nominee had to go on television to defend themselves after their confirmation hearing. Earlier, Kavanaugh sent a statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee saying he won’t be intimidated into withdrawing and called the effort against him “coordinated.”

Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has called all this a “smear campaign” and he said he’s determined to have a vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination.

One of the top Republicans tells The Washington Post, Kavanaugh’s nomination may be doomed.
"I don’t see how Kavanaugh makes it at this point,” Ed Rollins, co-chairman of the pro-Trump Great America PAC, tells me. Says Dems have become much better than Rs at opposition research and putting together strategies for nominees.
