Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has written a brutally honest take on his last day with the bureau and how he learned of his dismissal. In the Washington Post McCabe writes:

“Not in my worst nightmares did I ever dream my FBI career would end this way.”

And he says Donald Trump’s tweets, “were equally hurtful and false” saying:

“The next day I woke to find the president of the United States celebrating my punishment.”

He also addresses the reason the attorney general gave for his firing.

And there is this little tidbit about how McCabe wasn’t notified officially, instead it hit the TV airwaves first.
