Yahoo: Trump first wanted his attorney general pick William Barr for another job: Defense lawyer
President Trump initially wanted William Barr to be his defense counsel, sources say, but Trump has tapped Barr for an even more important position: attorney general, a post that, if he is confirmed, would put him in charge of the Mueller investigation.
It looks like Donald Trump has had his eye on William Barr for a while. And while Trump may think Barr is going to help him quash the Mueller investigation, Yahoo reports that one person who knows Barr well said he “would have no problem standing up to Trump.”
