Former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe moved a step closer to his goal of another term in office as he held off four challengers to win the Democratic nomination Tuesday evening. A soft turnout at the polls suggested that enthusiasm among Democratic voters was low, but McAuliffe’s win now sets up a November battle with GOP candidate and hedge fund magnate Glenn Youngkin that could be the most expensive campaign in Virginia history.
