This story isn’t getting much attention today, but it should. A gunman was allegedly trying to kill a top U.S. commander in Afghanistan. He failed, but he did murder three top southern provincial officials, including the police general who the Washington Post says, was “seen as the most powerful man in southern Afghanistan.”
