Friday’s ruling means that the Trump Organization is now contending with two separate lawsuits claiming it is improperly receiving payments from foreign governments.
The President of the United States is now facing a lawsuit filed by 200 congressional Democrats, let that sink in. The Washington Post reports, “The lawsuit is based on the Constitution’s emoluments clause, which bars presidents from taking payments from foreign states.”
