USA Today: Traveling this summer? Federal mask mandate extended into September for planes, trains, buses
The federal mask mandate on airplanes, trains and other public transportation was set to expire May 11 and has been extended through Sept. 13.
Flight attendants had been pushing for this extension.
And while our airplanes are well-ventilated, passengers continue to share close quarters, both on the airline and in the airport. Masks are the simplest way we can safeguard passenger and crew safety and ensure that we overcome this virus and its variants.
