USA Today: Supreme Court won’t force states to speed up church reopenings
The battle reached the court days before Pentecost Sunday, when churches restricted during recent lockdowns are eager to greet congregants.
Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the liberals on this one stating, “Although California’s guidelines place restrictions on places of worship, those restrictions appear consistent with the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.”
