USA Today: ‘The press is not the enemy of the people,’ Senate declares in resolution
The move came as more than 300 newspapers and other media outlets joined The Boston Globe in refuting President Trump’s denouncements.
Here’s one of the first bipartisan decisions we’ve seen in a long time. A resolution to declare the press is not the enemy of the people. Now, how about Republican senators tell the person in the White House to stop using the phrase?
This resolution also “condemns attacks on the institution of the free press and views efforts to systematically undermine the credibility of the press as a whole as an attack on our democratic institution.”
