“He was a brother, a jokester,” Wright’s mother, Katie, said as she fought back tears. “He was loved by so many. He is going to be so missed.”
Hundreds of people packed a Minneapolis church to remember Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man who was fatally shot by a police officer last week.
His mother said he “lit up a room.”
“Words can’t even explain how I feel right now,” his father said.
