The Week: Trump freestyles on Baghdadi, Chicago, and Jussie Smollett in wild speech at police conference
It didn’t take long for President Trump to criticize Chicago during his first ever presidential visit to the city Monday.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is pushing back on Trump’s criticism of Chicago saying:
“It’s no surprise that @realDonaldTrump brought his insulting, ignorant buffoonery to Chicago. Luckily, in this city, we know the truth and we will not let anyone — no matter how high the office — denigrate who we are as a people or our status as a welcoming city.”
Trump attacks Chicago Superintendent of Police Eddie Johnson for boycotting his speech at the event. Says he’s not doing his job, then goes into a lurid description of Chicago’s crime problems.
