The Week: Mitt Romney sides with Democrats calling for $12 hourly raises for essential workers
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) has followed demands of pay raises for essential workers with a proposal of his own.
Romney says: “Health care professionals, grocery store workers, food processors, and many others—the unsung patriots on the frontline of this pandemic—every day risk their safety for the health and well-being of our country, and they deserve our unwavering support. Patriot Pay is a way for us to reward our essential workers.”
America’s frontline workers are keeping us safe, healthy, and fed during the #COVID19 crisis. #PatriotPay would make sure they’re rewarded for it. https://t.co/NCznX3VgVc
