The Hollywood Reporter: Olympia Dukakis, Oscar Winner for ‘Moonstruck,’ Dies at 89
Olympia Dukakis, the dignified actress who received a supporting Oscar for her performance as Cher’s nitpicking Brooklyn mother in Moonstruck, has died. She was 89.
Olympia’s brother Apollo wrote:
“My beloved sister, Olympia Dukakis, passed away this morning in New York City.
After many months of failing health she is finally at peace and with her Louis.”
