The Hill: Texas Senate approves bill allowing people to carry handguns without license
The Texas Senate has voted to advance a bill that will allow people to carry handguns in the state without a license, setting up the state to be the largest in the country to allow permitless carry.
Police organizations in Texas are strongly against the measure.
I voted against HB 1927, the Permitless Carry Bill. I stand by the 2nd Amendment but I cannot support putting Texans in danger.
According to Texas leadership, we need tighter restrictions to cast a vote but shouldn't be bothered to obtain a permit to carry a handgun.#txlege pic.twitter.com/1OI96e3mmf
