The Hill: Senate confirms Biden’s DHS pick after GOP delay
The Senate on Tuesday voted to confirm Alejandro Mayorkas after a Republican effort stalled confirmation of President Biden’s pick to lead the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The vote on Mayorkas was the most narrow one yet for a member of Biden’s cabinet.
Just now: Alejandro Mayorkas has been confirmed to serve as Biden’s secretary of Homeland Security in a 56-43 vote.
