Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Thursday blocked two House-passed funding bills that would reopen the federal government.
The Senate Majority Leader has a lot of power over the shutdown but has instead chosen to stay on the sidelines. Then today Mitch McConnell decided to stop a pair of Democrats from introducing a bill that could have potentially put an end to this mess.
