Axios: Scientists find possible sign of life on Venus
Astronomers have found phosphine in the atmosphere of Venus, possibly indicating life.
The new study in the journal Nature Astronomy reports the detection of phosphine — a possible signature of life — in Venus’ atmosphere for the first time. The scientists aren’t suggesting the discovery is proof positive of life, but they haven’t found a better explanation for why the gas exists in the abundance it does on the second planet from the Sun.
