Politico: Rep. Chris Collins, fighting prosecution, seeks to end reelection bid
Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), who was charged this week as part of an insider trading scheme, is suspending his re-election campaign and will attempt to remove his name from the ballot.
Collins is alleged to have received information on a drug which failed in trials and then passed off the information to his son before it was public knowledge. Using that information, prosecutors allege, Collins and family members avoided losses of more than $700,000.
