Politico: Pelosi weighs bringing House back early to address Postal Service crisis
The chamber has no votes scheduled until mid-September, but Speaker Nancy Pelosi might bring lawmakers back sooner.
As Senator Bernie Sanders said earlier today, ”We will not let Trump destroy the Post Office to sabotage this election. This is a democracy, not a dictatorship.” Now there is increasing pressure to address funding for the post office before early voting starts in certain states.
America relies on the premise that “neither snow nor rain nor heat… stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
The postal service’s mission is even more critical now to our lives, livelihood & the life of our democracy. #ProtectUSPSwhistleblowers
