Politico: Greg Walden to retire in latest sign of GOP doubts about retaking House
Rep. Greg Walden, the top Republican on the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee, will retire at the end of this Congress, the veteran lawmaker announced Monday.
Walden is the only Republican member of Congress in Oregon, but now he says “the time has come to pursue new challenges and opportunities.”
