NPR: Vladimir Putin Easily Wins New 6-Year Term As Russian President
In a widely expected outcome, Putin faced a weak field of candidates after disqualifying his only potential rival. He is set to become the longest-serving Russian leader since Stalin.
Vladimir Putin wins re-election with 76% of the votes. As NPR reports, “If Putin serves to the end of his new fourth term, which expires in 2024, he would become the longest-serving leader of Russia since Soviet dictator Josef Stalin.”
