NPR: Virginia Governor Declares State Of Emergency Ahead Of Gun Rights Rally
Gov. Ralph Northam said that “there are groups with malicious plans” and raised concerns about a reprise of the white supremacist violence in Charlottesville in 2017.
Gov. Northam is banning all weapons during the protests saying “intelligence suggests militia groups and hate groups, some from out of state, plan to come to the Capitol to disrupt our democratic process with acts of violence.”
