NPR: Saudi Arabia Lifts Ban On Women Drivers
The country allowed women to drive for the first time on Sunday, ending its widely-criticized ban on women drivers.
History in Saudi Arabia today as women are allowed to drive for the first time in more than 60 years. This could lead to other progress for women in the country including more women in the workforce. It’s certainly a step in the right direction, but Saudi Arabia still has a long way to go as far as women’s rights are concerned.
