NPR: It’s Legal. In Canada, Recreational Marijuana Gets Green Light
Pot sales begin today in Canada, which is only the second country after Uruguay to legalize the drug for recreational use.
Today marks the first day you can walk into a store in Canada and legally buy marijuana. The government is now overseeing the production of pot. The idea is to stop having criminals profit off of it and stop them from selling the drug to children.
