NPR: Half Of All U.S. Adults Are Now Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19
The stunning speed of the vaccines’ development and rollout has helped tame COVID-19 in the U.S., which remains the worst-hit country in the world.
The U.S. has reached a milestone in the fight against the coronavirus as half of the adult population in America is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. It marks a stunning achievement for the Biden Administration as ending the pandemic and returning the country to normalcy was the president’s top priority entering office. Vice-President Harris noted the benchmark in a tweet, but reminded that the battle is far from over.
50% of adult Americans are now fully vaccinated. This is big progress. Let’s not stop here, get vaccinated if you haven’t already.

During a White House briefing on Tuesday, senior adviser Andy Slavitt noted how far the country’s vaccination efforts had come since Biden took office.
“This is a major milestone in our country’s vaccination efforts. The number was 1% when we entered office Jan. 20.”
