NPR: Greta Thunberg Is ‘Time’ Magazine’s Person Of The Year For 2019
She burst onto the world stage after organizing school strikes and protests to call attention to the climate crisis. The Swedish activist, 16, is the youngest person to earn the title.
Thunberg has confessed that she was “a bit surprised” to be granted this honor. Hillary Clinton remarked:
“Congratulations to Greta Thunberg for being named TIME’s Person of the Year.
I am grateful to Greta for all she’s done to raise awareness of the urgency of the climate crisis and for her willingness to tell hard, motivating truths.”
