NPR: Florence, Now A Hurricane, Is One Of Many Threats To The Atlantic And Pacific
As Hurricane Florence heads toward the southeastern U.S., Hurricane Olivia is headed towards Hawaii and a typhoon is expected to hit Guam on Monday.
From Dan: Hurricane Florence is suddenly a dangerous threat to Carolinas, Virginia and elsewhere. It may reach category 4. It hasn’t been getting much attention, but now attention must be paid. Two other hurricanes are building behind Florence. The other systems are too far out to know paths and full strength potential yet.
Point is: We still are in the most dangerous time of year for hurricanes. Because it’s been quiet so far the public has sorta fallen asleep about them. Florence and what s developing behind her is a wake-up call.
