Newsweek: John McCain’s former campaign manager says he’s leaving the party and will now be supporting Democrats
He was once the campaign manager for presidential candidate John McCain. Now after 29 years as a Republican, he’ll be voting for Democrats.
Steve Schmidt, John McCain’s former campaign manager, said that Republicans are nothing more than “feckless cowards” in response to the administration’s zero-tolerance stance. “This child separation policy is connected to the worst abuses of humanity in our history,” Schmidt wrote on Twitter. He’s leaving the party after 29 years as a Republican.
