Newsday: Schools closing Tuesday in NYC’s COVID-19 ‘hot spots’
Schools in “hot spot” neighborhoods in New York City where clusters of coronavirus cases have been identified will be shut down starting Tuesday, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said, as he warned he will take similar action against religious institutions that violate mask-wearing and social distancing laws.
In closing these schools, Cuomo remarked, “Better safe than sorry. I would not send my child to a school in a cluster that has not been tested.”
.@NYGovCuomo says he may close schools in Orange and Rockland Counties where there are #COVID19 clusters. But schools in “hot spots” zip codes here in the City will be shuttered as of tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/Z4824cYGXs
