NBC: White House moves to replace Interior Department Inspector General
An internal HUD email announced Suzanne Tufts will become the acting inspector general for the Interior Department. The Interior IG’s office was unaware.
This sure doesn’t pass the smell test. The Project on Government Oversight says, “This move is politically suspect: Interior already has an acting Inspector General, who’s in the middle of several investigations involving Zinke’s activities. As our @lizhempowicz put it, “they shouldn’t be changing hats right now.”
