NBC News: Women detained by Border Patrol after speaking Spanish at gas station
“I was buying eggs. I don’t think that’s suspicious,” Ana Suda said after last week’s incident with a Border Patrol agent.
Two women were stopped by border patrol in Montana. The reason? They had the nerve (note the sarcasm) to speak Spanish in a convenience store. According to the border agent “speaking Spanish is very unheard of up here.” If you are wondering whether the women are immigrants (not that it should matter), they were actually born in Texas and California.
