NBC News: Trump advisers weighed whether military could build, run migrant camps
Top Trump advisers met at the White House Tuesday to talk about increasing military involvement at the border, including building tent cities for migrants.
The military has been used at the border before, but there are limitations to what they can legally do. Having the military run tent cities is simply not possible because, “U.S. law prohibits the military from directly interacting with migrants.”
