NBC News: Reality Winner, jailed for leaking NSA secrets about Russian hacking, released early from prison
Winner, 29, was sentenced to five years and three months in prison in 2018 after leaking classified information to the news outlet The Intercept.
The Trump Justice Department wanted to send a message about leaking to the press. Reality Winner, who had no previous record, has spent the last five years in jail.
