NBC News: Defense Secretary Esper has prepped resignation letter, say officials
Esper also plans to help Congress draft legislation to strip military bases of Confederate names, which could further alienate him from Trump.
NBC reports that Esper may submit his resignation because he is worried about getting fired and also “thinking about his legacy.”
