McClatchy: Web of elite Russians met with NRA execs during 2016 campaign
While Russian cyber operatives unleashed an attack on the U.S. elections in 2015 and 2016, National Rifle Association officials were meeting with figures in Vladimir Putin’s inner circle and high in the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Justice Department is now investigating Russian banker and avid NRA member Robert Torshin, who they believe might have channeled money through the gun-rights group to President Trump’s campaign.
