LA Times: Trump backed ‘space force’ after months of lobbying by officials with ties to aerospace industry
President Trump announced his support for a “space force” in March after a small group of current and former government officials, some with deep financial ties to the aerospace industry, lobbied him for creation of a sixth military service over objections of Pentagon brass and many in Congress.
