ESPN: IOC Says Athlete Protests Still Banned At Olympics
Athlete protests and political messages will remain banned at the Olympics, the IOC said Wednesday.
Rule 50 of the Olympic Charter will remain in place for the Tokyo Games, after a survey showed the majority of athletes felt such displays “were not appropriate” at the Games or ceremonies. Some people think the questions asked during the survey helped provide the result the IOC wanted.
The IOC is maintaining its ban on protest at the Olympics.
