Daily News: Trump says he won’t throw out first pitch at Yankees game; announcement made day after Stanton, Hicks kneel during anthem
After a weekend golfing at his New Jersey course, President Donald J. Trump backtracked on his announcement that he would throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium on Aug. 15.
For the second time in a week, Donald Trump cancels an event. First, it was the Republican National Convention celebration in Jacksonville, now it’s the first pitch for the Yankees. Again the president is trying to spin it, but speculation is that the backlash over his visit and the potential of baseball players kneeling kept him away.
Tweets the busy guy from his New Jersey golf course. He cant handle the fact that both teams will be taking a knee- even if before the anthem.
