CNN: White House will assert immunity for Hope Hicks during congressional testimony
The White House is asserting immunity for President Donald Trump’s long-time confidant Hope Hicks from testifying in the House Judiciary Committee about her time at the White House, setting up a showdown with Democrats when Hicks appears behind closed doors on Wednesday.
Democrats could take this through the court system to try and force Hicks to answer their questions. For now, they may have to settle with getting answers to events that occurred before Donald Trump was inaugurated.
