CNN: US death rates are falling for many types of cancer, but not all, report says
US death rates from cancer continued to decline from 2014 to 2018, driven mostly by drops in deaths from lung cancer and melanoma, according to a new report published Thursday.
Stat News writes, “While the report showed improved survival rates for many patients over recent years, others, such as prostate, colorectal, or female breast cancers, have seen progress stalled or stopped. Breast cancer continues to be one of the three deadliest cancers for women of all races, and the most frequently fatal cancer for Hispanic women.”
The report shows we still have work to do.
Death rates for several major cancers continue to increase, and reducing rates for some has slowed, like #ColorectalCancer and #BreastCancer. Overall incidence rates increased among females, children, and AYAs.https://t.co/bWRCQ1BngT
