CNN: Trump asks court to dismiss emoluments lawsuit against him
President Donald Trump has asked a federal court to dismiss a lawsuit accusing him of violating the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause related to private payments from other governments.
President Trump has asked a federal court to drop the parts of the emoluments lawsuit against him as an individual because he claims that he can only be sued as President of the United States. He’s also being sued separately in his official capacity as President.
