CNBC: Supreme Court sides with Catholic adoption agency that refuses to work with LGBT couples
The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
This unanimous decision is a blow to same-sex couples, but as NBC’s Pete Williams says “It is not a green light for other organizations to feel they can now cite religious freedom in violating anti-discrimination laws.”
