CNBC: DOJ to file antitrust lawsuit against Google
The lawsuit will mark the first major antitrust lawsuit against a technology company since the DOJ’s case against Microsoft in the late ’90s.
This is part of a year-long investigation. Sen. Ted Cruz told CNBC, “Google is a monopoly and I think they have been abusing their monopoly power. It’s a pattern we have seen across Big Tech. It’s been getting more and more brazen.”
Google's "abuse of power is not strictly monetary … because they're also monetizing your data, your private data," says @SenTedCruz as the DoJ preps its long-awaited antitrust suit against Google. pic.twitter.com/HR9Gk8srAy
