Chicago Tribune: President Trump deploys federal agents to more states under ‘law-and-order’ push
Federal agents will surge into Chicago and Albuquerque to help combat rising crime, expanding the administration’s intervention in local enforcement as Trump runs for reelection under a “law-and-order” mantle.
Donald Trump is calling this “Operation Legend,” but it’s already facing some hurdles. Even before his announcement, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said, “Under no circumstances will I allow Donald Trump’s troops to come to Chicago and terrorize our residents.”
Pres. Trump announced that hundreds of federal agents are being sent to Chicago to curb ongoing violence as part of a new anti-crime initiative.
