AP: US Indicts 3 on Hate Crime Charges in Death of Georgia Man
This is the most significant civil rights prosecution undertaken to date by the Biden administration Justice Department.
In February 2020, 25 year-old Ahmaud Arbery, a Black man, was jogging in Glynn Country, Georgia when three men attempted to chase him. Arbery, who was unarmed, was shot and killed.
The three men who pursued Arbery are white. Today, a federal grand jury has charged them with hate crimes and attempted kidnapping. They had been arrested and charged on other counts relating to the murder last year.
