AP: Taliban complete northeast Afghan blitz as more cities fall
The Taliban seized three more Afghan provincial capitals and a local army headquarters Wednesday, completing a blitz across the country’s northeast and giving them control of two-thirds of the nation.
Thousands of families are fleeing Kabul as the Taliban takes control. The situation is dire and has escalated quickly this week. There is speculation the Afghan government could completely fall to the Taliban in the next few months.
