AP: SpaceX capsule and NASA crew make 1st splashdown in 45 years
Two NASA astronauts returned to Earth on Sunday in a dramatic, retro-style splashdown, their capsule parachuting into the Gulf of Mexico to close out an unprecedented test flight by Elon Musk’s SpaceX company.
After landing, Col. Doug Hurley, one of the test pilots on board Space X remarked, “To anybody who has touched Endeavour, you should take a moment to just cherish this day, especially given all the things that have happened this year… just proud to be a small part of this whole effort.”
"Thanks for flying @SpaceX."
