AP: High court blocks NY coronavirus limits on houses of worship
As coronavirus cases surge again nationwide the Supreme Court late Wednesday barred New York from enforcing certain limits on attendance at churches and synagogues.
In her dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor implied the court overstepped its bounds with this controversial ruling:
“Justices of this Court play a deadly game in second-guessing the expert judgment of health officials about the environments in which a contagious virus, now infecting a million Americans each week, spreads most easily.”
